A new collaboration is bringing together three purpose-driven organizations with a shared commitment to community, mental wellbeing, and meaningful impact.
Canucks Autism Network (CAN) is proud to partner with Helen’s Acres and Friends of Felix on a limited-edition hat that celebrates connection, inclusion, and the power of being seen and valued exactly as you are. Whether it’s creating conversation around men’s mental health, growing produce for those in need, or building opportunities for Autistic individuals, this collaboration represents what’s possible when like-minded organizations come together.
What makes it even more meaningful is its shared roots in Kelowna. CAN delivers programs right in Kelowna, where Helen’s Acres and Friends of Felix are based, highlighting the strength of local impact and its ability to create far-reaching change.
Headwear with Heart
Created in 2023, Friends of Felix is a lifestyle and fashion brand rooted in the belief that things don’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. By encouraging open, honest conversations around men’s mental health, the brand serves as a reminder to check in on one another, take life day by day, and speak up about how we’re really feeling.
Staying true to their mission, Friends of Felix donates 10% of all profits to their partners at HeadsUpGuys, an online resource that helps men around the world with their fight against depression.
Growing Food, Connecting Community
While CAN and Felix are new friends, our connection with Helen’s Acres has been growing since March 2025. Over the past year, the farm has become an important community partner through our Skills Training Employment Program (CAN-STEP), which provides participants with five weeks of classroom training followed by 120 hours of hands-on work experience.

Since launching the program in Kelowna, Helen’s Acres has provided three work placements for CAN-STEP participants, creating an inclusive environment where Autistic job seekers are supported, accommodated, and encouraged to be themselves.
Helen’s Acres’ commitment to addressing food insecurity and advancing social justice also gives participants meaningful exposure to community-centred work, helping them build not only practical experience, but also a deeper understanding of the impact their contributions can have.
This season, Helen’s Acres proudly welcomed back a CAN-STEP participant as a member of their team, underscoring their commitment to inclusive employment. And just this past weekend, the farm hosted CAN families for a special event featuring seed planting, a reptile petting zoo, food trucks, crafts, and most importantly, a space to connect through shared experiences.
You Belong Here
This collaboration is a natural extension of the values that unite Canucks Autism Network, Helen’s Acres, and Friends of Felix: belonging, wellbeing, and the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to thrive.
