Director of Social and Vocational Programs

Location: CAN office, 803 – 510 West Hastings St., Vancouver

Application Deadline: August 11th, 2010

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide direction and leadership for the development,  implementation and coordination of all social and vocational programs throughout the province;
As the Director of Social and Vocational Programs, you will be responsible for ensuring sound management of all aspects of programs including administration and financial management, human resources and volunteer ambassadors;
As a member of the senior management team, you will also support the strategic goals and direction of the organization and provide leadership on programming, operational and strategic planning and stakeholder relations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold at minimum a bachelor’s degree plus have experience in program development and delivery specific to the autism community, volunteer management, budgeting, and work in the non-profit sector. The candidate will also have proven experience and expertise in developing implementation strategies and overseeing staff. A strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder is required, as well as work experience with those on the autism spectrum. Demonstrated ability to develop visual schedules and develop appropriate programs and support is essential.

Director of the We CAN Be Friends Program

Location: CAN office, 803 – 510 West Hastings St., Vancouver

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will provide direction and leadership for the development,  implementation and coordination of the We CAN Be Friends program throughout the province;
As the Director of We CAN Be Friends, you will be responsible for ensuring sound management of all aspects of the program, including administration and financial management, human resources and volunteer ambassadors;
As a member of the senior management team, you will also support the strategic goals and direction of the organization and provide leadership on program, operational and strategic planning and stakeholder relations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold at minimum a bachelor’s degree in education plus have experience in program development and delivery, a minimum of 2 years of classroom experience, volunteer management and budgeting. Work in the non-profit sector an asset. The candidate will also have proven experience and expertise in developing
implementation strategies, overseeing staff, and possess a strong understanding of autism and/or special needs.
