Family Experiences provide opportunities to enjoy a fun activity in a non-judgmental environment, while connecting with other families.
Year-round family events vary by season and region, with all ages welcome.
Past Family Experiences have included water parks, visits to the farm, holiday light displays, mini golf, outdoor skates and more!
A Family Experience Pass is required to register.

What can you expect?
We offer different types of Family Experiences, dependent on the facility and the nature of the activity.These Family Experiences are more private, where the venue (or a part of the venue) is open exclusively to CAN families.
- Obvious CAN branding on site (tents & signage)
- CAN staff & volunteers on site to check families in and facilitate activities (support not provided)
- Autism-friendly accommodations and/or resources available via CAN
- Goal is for CAN families to benefit from smaller crowds and connect with each other
Example: At the Chilliwack Corn Maze, we book the entire venue for a private, less-crowded experience.
At Community Family Experiences, the venue is also open to the general public. There may or may not be a CAN-exclusive component to the event.
- Fewer CAN staff and volunteers supporting the event
- Goal is for CAN families to enjoy a low-cost, fun activity in their community
- Autism accommodations are made, wherever possible by the facility (i.e. designated quiet room)
Example: At Blenkinsop Mini Golf in Victoria, CAN families enjoy golfing alongside the general public.
Who can participate?
- Anyone with a CAN account and Family Experience Pass
- Open to immediate family members only (ie. parents & siblings of the individual on the spectrum)
- A family member with an autism diagnosis must be present.
The majority of attendees at CAN Family Experiences are children and youth on the spectrum and their families.
However, many Autistic adults also attend independently or with their immediate family members!
