Find your voice. Feel the rhythm!
Learn basic percussion instruments in a group lesson format of up to 8-10 participants.
Instructors will lead music games and excercises that work on a variety of rhythms.
The program may feature an end-of-season performance for participants to showcase what they’ve learned!
Taught by Sarah McLachlan School of Music instructors and supported by CAN staff and volunteers.
Support Provided
Participants receive individualized support from trained staff and dedicated volunteers:
- CAN Onsite Supervisor: Ensures the success of the program as a whole
- Sarah McLachlan School of Music Instructor: Delivers curriculum and provides group instruction
- CAN Support Workers: Individualize and adapt instruction to each participant
- CAN Program Assistants & Volunteers: Additional program support
Our goal is to provide as much support (1:1 or more) or as little support (to foster independence), as needed.
We strive to meet the needs of each participant through parent/caregiver collaboration.
Parents and caregivers can provide basic information about their child’s support needs and abilities through their CAN account.
During the season, don’t hesitate to speak with coaches and on-site staff about support strategies that work for your child (e.g., visual schedules, first-then boards, token systems, social stories, etc).
