Come tumble with us!
Learn introductory skills, like jumping, moving in different directions, and balancing. The program also focuses on gym safety.
Participants are supported by a certified gymnastics coach, trained support workers, and dedicated volunteers to create a safe and supportive environment.
Participants must have a registered account, an autism diagnosis, and be of the correct age when the program starts.
Gymnastics is delivered in collaboration with Chilliwack Gymnastics, Langley Gymnastics, Tumbletown, Twisters Gymnastics, Okanagan Gymnastics, Splitz Gymnastics, and White Rock Gymnastics.
Support Provided
Participants receive individualized support from trained staff and dedicated volunteers from both CAN and the partnered gymnastics facility.
- Onsite Supervisor: Ensures the success of the program as a whole
- Certified Gymnastics Coach: Delivers curriculum and provides group instruction
- Support Workers: Individualize and adapt instruction to each participant
- Program Assistants & Volunteers: Additional program support
Our goal is to provide as much support (1:1 or more) or as little support (to foster independence), as needed.
We strive to meet the needs of each participant through parent/caregiver collaboration.
Parents and caregivers can provide basic information about their child’s support needs and abilities through their CAN account.
During the season, don’t hesitate to speak with coaches and on-site staff about support strategies that work for your child (e.g., visual schedules, first-then boards, token systems, social stories, etc).
Our “Activity Storybooks” show participants what to expect at a CAN program!
Participants can read them before their first (or each) session to build predictability.
Download the Gymnastics Activity Storybook to help prepare your child for the program.
