Let’s get crafty!

☀️ Summer 2026: The program will be delivered as Girls Craft Club for Autistic girls ages 13-17 (inclusive of gender-fluid and gender-diverse individuals).

Get creative while build meaningful connections with peers. Work on group activities or bring your own personal project using our supplies!

Craft activities have included collage-making, rock painting, canvas painting, group mosaics, clay sculpting, and more.

Past discussions have covered themes like self-advocacy, personal strengths, values, setting boundaries, and communication styles.

CAN youth & adult programs are for anyone who self-identifies as Autistic. A formal diagnosis is not required.

Participants must have a registered account and be of the correct age when the program starts.

What To Expect

The program is led by a Program Leader who plans the activities and discussions.

  • Need close support?
We’re here for you! We can provide 1:1 support, if needed.
  • Are you more independent?
We’re around to help facilitate the program and keep the group on track.

Most importantly, we want to ensure that each Autistic youth or adult is comfortable participating at their pace.

Let us know how we can best support you!

For younger participants (or those with higher needs), parents and caregivers can provide basic information about the participant’s support needs and abilities through their CAN account.*

For older or more independent participants, you can communicate any support needs or preferences through your CAN account.*

Don’t hesitate to speak directly with staff about support needs and preferences at the program.

*If the participant would like their personal support worker to accompany them to the program, please email us at youthandadults@canucksautism.ca.

Michelle (she/her) is an Autistic-identifying multidisciplinary artist who creates art to navigate her way through introspection.

From a young age she discovered that the process of artmaking often invited solace and a way for her to express feelings that words could not describe.

This journey has led her to explore different mediums, such as drawing, tattooing, sculpting, and fibre arts. She deeply values the vulnerability present in crafting and how healing it can be.

As a Peer Facilitator, Michelle’s is to encourage youth with exploring their creativity and to have fun!
