Conquer the wall!

Learn the basics of bouldering or climbing in an indoor gym setting.

Sessions are led by certified instructors from our collaborating facilities, as well as CAN support workers and volunteers.

Participants are also encouraged to build independence and familiarity with the gym environment that can be maintained outside of the program.

CAN youth and adult programs are for individuals who self-identify as Autistic. A formal diagnosis is not required.

Participants must have a registered account and be of the correct age when the program starts.

Bouldering is offered in collaboration with The Hive in Surrey, while climbing is offered in collaboration with Romper Room in Nanaimo.

Let us know how to best support you.

Our staff and volunteers are on hand to ensure that all participants are welcomed, accepted, and supported.

  • Need close support?
We’re here for you! We can provide 1:1 support, if needed.
  • Are you more independent?
We’re around to help facilitate the program and keep the group on track.

Most importantly, we want to ensure that each Autistic youth or adult is comfortable participating at their pace.

Keep us in the loop!

For younger participants (or those with higher needs), parents and guardians can provide basic information about the participant’s support needs and abilities through their CAN account.

For older or more independent participants, you can communicate any support needs or preferences through your CAN account.

During the season, don’t hesitate to speak directly with staff about support needs and preferences.

“CAN Bouldering has good people that encourage you to take risks. It’s a lot of fun!”

-Ryan, CAN participant
