Who leads the group?
Discussions are led by two Autistic facilitators, Liz-Anne and Vesper.Liz-Anne is a dedicated advocate for the Autistic community, leveraging her skills, passions, and Autistic experience.
She serves in various roles at CAN, including Job Coach and Bird Walk program leader. She has experience facilitating groups in Autistic advocacy and Autistic queer communities, and loves to create inclusive environments that foster connection, growth, and a sense of belonging.
Liz-Anne is also a lawyer and is passionate about advancing the legal needs of the Autistic and neurodivergent communities, utilizing her legal knowledge to create meaningful change and personal experience to ensure Autistic-friendly support.
Vesper (they/he) is dedicated to helping participants feel a genuine sense of belonging and empowerment.
Vesper brings a strong commitment to neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed support. As an Autistic, disabled person, they value creating spaces where people feel understood, respected, and supported as their full selves. His facilitation style centers on strengths, accessibility, and practical skill-building, with a focus on communication, peer connection, and confidence.
In addition to being a peer facilitator with CAN, Vesper has experience supporting 2SLGBTQIA+, Autistic, and disabled youth and young adults across community and educational settings. They are especially passionate about creating inclusive environments where the participants they support can explore identity, build meaningful relationships, and grow at their own pace. With a background in psychology and public policy, Vesper is dedicated to helping participants feel a genuine sense of belonging and empowerment.
